Sharing Becuase i know many of you have been following our journey ♥️:
We had our anatomy scan today and unfortunately it didn’t go like what thought it would.. baby boy is doing amazing him self, he is so perfect…but at the end of the scan they saw something to do with my Placenta. The tech asked if it was okay to do an internal scan and of course I said yes. Once my scan was complete she had to step out and let us know the doctor will be coming to talk to us. The doctor sits down and explains to us that I have a bilobed placenta which is can be common with IVF pregnancy ( placenta has two lobes of roughly equal size, separated by a membrane, instead of a single disc ) but with this I also have a rare pregnancy complication called Type II Vasa previa. Long story short i am a high risk pregnancy and will have alot more appoitment. I will have to be admitted into the hospital at 30-32 weeks and be monitored day and night until baby is safe for a C section at 35 weeks. Not going to lie we are nervous on what lies ahead and it was a very scary thing to hear but We are so fortunate they discovered this when they did and instantly put a plan in place.

Kelsey Drouin has been fully admitted for her recent placenta abruption as well as her original diagnosis. The baby and her are doing well, however the hospital has strongly encouraged Kelsey to stay until the baby decides to arrive. Being only 26 weeks we hope that baby Kallen will stay put for a couple more weeks. That being said, Kelsey will be living at the hospital and be put out of work. Kelsey’s husband, Austin, will be the only source of income and he will be spending much time traveling to be with her while trying work a full time job and managing their home being built from the ground up.
This has been an abrupt change for the Drouin family, mentally, physically, and financially. However, it’s the safest for both Kelsey and the baby and have positive and well wishes things will work out as they should.
During this time we asked that our community is willing to help with the financial burden, but as well as share Kelsey and Austins story and bring awareness to such a rare, high risk diagnosis.
