The Dragon & the Wanderer - traveling puppet show

The Dragon and the Wanderer is an original traveling puppet show for kids and families, and is the first joint creation of newlyweds Aaron Roberge and Leah Holleran. This 2-person show uses hand puppets, shadow puppets, live acting, and music to tell a story of courage and friendship. From June until September, The Dragon and the Wanderer will be performing in select festivals and busking on the streets of Europe--a journey that doubles as our honeymoon!
The creation of this show would absolutely not have been possible without the support (practical, emotional, and financial) of our family and friends. Building The Dragon and the Wanderer has been an immense and rewarding challenge--and that challenge continues as we head on the road. Until our final performances at the World Puppet Theatre Festival in France in the last week of September, we will be backpacking, pitching our tent, exploring and performing in more than 10 countries! We hope to be able to sustain ourselves and The Dragon and the Wanderer for those three months, to bring this story to as many young audiences as we can! These funds will be used toward equipment and repair expenses for the show, as well as travel, food, and shelter as we truly sing for our supper.
This project has become our baby as we've built it from the ground up over the past year. It has been, and continues to be, a massive learning experience that has put us to the test in countless ways, and it means so much to us to finally be able to bring it to life. We are so grateful to every single person who contributes to making this adventurous dream a reality. It is not only the start of our lives together as a couple, but also the beginning of the kind of lives we hope to lead as human beings, and it means the world to us that we are not in it alone.
