The Devil's Den Movie

The Devil's Den is a feature horror film in the style of Texas Chainsaw 2 meets House of 1000 corpses meets Evil Dead. Written and directed by lifelong horror fan and creature actor Kent Wagner. Our team has resources to some of the best talent in the film industry and have designed a film for the die hard horror fan base. The sky is the limit on this project and the more we can raise, the better talent we can attach to create a cult classic that will reach audiences worldwide.

What is The Devil's Den?
The Devil's Den is a story about a group of paranormal hunters that go on a weekend investigation near Gettysburg Pennsylvania. During their investigation things go terribly wrong as they encounter the inhabitants of an abandoned haunted house, also known as, The Devil's Den.

Kent Wagner, writer and director of The Devil's Den has been working on professional film sets for the past 6 years. Specializing in acting in creature effects Kent has worked on films and series including: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Walking Dead, Goosebumps 2, The Vampire Diaries, Avengers: Infinity War and many more.

Taking experiences from these sets, studying these productions and directors, Kent was inspired to deliver a grindhouse style horror film and  wrote The Devil's Den in late 2018. A life long special effects fan from and early age, Kent grew up stalking the horror aisle in the video stores. Kent has also been entrenched in the horror community his entire life. Growing up in the horror genre and bringing experience from some of the biggest productions to film the past few years, we understand the needs of the horror community and have the resources to deliver an amazing film.

The Devil's Den: Bringing the Horror community together and educating future filmmakers. Kent has been traveling around America the past 5 years meeting and building a network of friends and colleagues setting the stage for this film. While working in Maryland the past two years on two independent film projects Kent met a very passionate group of young filmmakers. The choice to film The Devil's Den in Maryland was easy. Our proximity to the actual Devil's Den in Gettysburg, we were able to scout amazing locations and secure them in early 2019. We are looking forward to working with this passionate group of upcoming filmmakers. We are bringing a production to the area that will practice the techniques of blockbuster productions, raise the bar of professionalism of film in the region and bring industry professionals on board to help mentor this growing film community.

What We Need & What You Get
Our target overall goal for the film is $300,000. A reasonable price tag for what we will be delivering. We have private investors, but this campaign ties the entire production together. The expenses range from cast, crew, locations, effects, wardrobe, craft services, travel, lodging, social media promotions, post production expenses, distribution expenses etc.
The more we can raise the higher we can raise the bar and bring some of the best equipment, crew and special effects talent in the industry on board.
If we exceed our goals, that is great! We will push international sales and use any extra funding to promote the film into 2020 (Preparing for the sequel).  
We have some great perks set up for our contributors. With over 20 options we have something for everyone including: Join the cast at one of 5 cities for a screening premier in October, join us on set while filming happens, be in the film as an extra or dead body, camp with the cast and crew, receive screen used props and more. Even at our lowest contribution the Blood Donor, everyone will receive thank you credits on IMDb, our website, special features of the film or personal shoutouts from set while we film in July.
100% of funds go directly to The Devil's Den. We ARE filming in July. If we don't meet our goals we will adjust and deliver the best product we can with the resources that are available to us.



The Impact
We are bringing a grindhouse style horror film to the masses this Halloween season.
We are inspiring and educating independent filmmakers in the greater Maryland area.
We are showcasing icons in the horror community to build on their legacies.
We leave the horror genre with a film that will be remembered for decades.
We ARE NOT Hollywood and will have no affiliation with that style of overpriced and under performing productions that have let so many fans in this genre (and others) down with over glamorized digital regurgitation of the same stories told time and time again.
Support Indie films and bring a resurgence to quality American made productions outside of the Hollywood bubble. 



Risks & Challenges
With any production there are risks and challenges. Our core team behind the camera have been in the trenches of the film world for decades. 

We have designed a flexible shoot schedule in July that will keep us on time, regardless of weather. We can easily move to indoor filming if needed at one of our 3 key locations.
With a group of local enthusiasts, we will be utilizing volunteers as needed. Although, our ultimate goal is to be sure everyone gets paid, including the first time PA's during our filming dates.
We have a tight filming schedule, of, 20-25 days. With some weekend dates optional, we will have plenty of time to capture the footage we need in our set deadline.
Contributions are key. We want to deliver a quality picture with a great cast, and have it all look amazing for you guys when we release The Devil's Den this October. The stronger our base is the better our final product will be, thanks to you guys!
