The Crazy Dog Park
The Crazy Dog Park is a planned recreational facility on the corner of NW 4th street in Mineral Wells. The Park’s scheduled opening by spring 2023, pending a successful fundraising campaign. The Park will be designated such that small dogs and large dogs will have their own recreation area within the park. Design and updates on the plans can be found on the Crazy Dog Park Facebook page.
According to the AVMA's formula, Mineral Wells has just under 4,000 pet-owning households and over 3,000 dogs. Mineral Wells needs a dog park! This is a fundraiser by the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class 27 through the Mineral Wells Chamber’s non-profit Envision Mineral Wells. The land is privately owned while the reconstruction of the dog park is taking place and then will be donated to The City of Mineral Wells to maintain.
$150,000 seems like a lot of money. What will that buy? After fencing and connecting other basic infrastructure needs like sidewalks, water, grass, and fixtures $150,000 will be spent. If any infrastructure items can be donated or provided as an in-kind service, the money raised can be spent on other items. Our goal is to create a park that is safe, fun, and a true asset to our community so that residents and visitors of Mineral Wells have an attraction they are proud of and enjoy.
