The crash that Stole Christmas from 4 Children
Donation protected
On March 15, 2021 Michelle Lazu was killed in a head-on collision on Ashland City Road in Clarksville, TN when a suspected drunk driver crossed into her lane at a high speed. Michelle had four children under the age of 10 at the time of the crash. Her mother Ann Lazu now has custody of her grandchildren along with a 6 year child of her own. (5 Kids total). The case is pending in court and the suspect has been charged with Vehicular Homicide.
This will be the Lazu's family first Christmas without Michelle. The year has been extremely difficult on the grandmother - Ann Lazu and her finances have been stretched to the limit. There are 4 boys and 1 girl in this family who would greatly benefit from your donations. Funds collected will be given to the Lazu family for expenses to cover Christmas and beyond.
Ann Lazu told me that when Michelle was very young and they were living in a small studio apartment barely making ends meet. They were given a small Christmas tree by a neighbor and decorated it using craft items around the apartment. When the tree was finished they realized that there wasn't an angel to put on top. Michelle gave her mom her small strawberry shortcake doll to use instead. They wrapped it in tissue and put glue and glitter on it turning it into a very special angel. Each year afterward they would use the homemade angel to top their Christmas tree and reflect on how far they had come since the early years. The tears streamed down Ann Lazu's face as she realized that this year Michelle would not be with her to place the angel on top of the tree.
Our community can bring a bit of joy and light into this family's holiday season. Let's make it happen!
