Little did we know that all of that hard work and expectations would get reset with our new realities during COVID-19. While we wait on the SBA EIDL loan determination, and while we wait to see how the phased reopening approaches for Virginia will occur we temper our expectations with the reality that we may not get to a sense of normalcy for quite some time.
Since our hands our tied in our ability to serve customers at the brewery and there is great uncertainty on if/when we can open the taproom minimally much less at full capacity, we appeal to all of you, our friends, our neighbors, our families, our community to help support us so that we have a fighting chance. Our plans are to find and expand all other mechanisms to create revenue while social distancing which includes a pivot to a canning line for distribution (since restaurants are in the same bind as we are, keg distribution gets impacted and we have to get into traditional distribution with cans rather than bottles). We also will work towards a more robust e-commerce environment to address our home-brewing customers if they can't come in to brew.
We recognize that this is asking a lot of everyone, and that there are so many similar stories out there ... all we can do is hope that we can make it past this unprecedented time for all of us and count on your support so that we can continue to serve you in the future. Any donations received will go towards operating the business, taking care of our staff and generating these new lines of business that will enable us to survive.
