Last year marked 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising which led to the gay rights movement. Now the Stonewall Inn is under threat to close permanently due to financial constraints from CoVid-19. Fortunately able to keep their establishment safe for the time being, it is unknown when business as usual will begin. With astronomical rental fees alone, the Stonewall Inn is still in need of much financial support.

The second floor space at Stonewall Inn is also a place for artists of the LGBTQ+ community of all experiences to come together in creative expression and performance.

Abdiel and Kristine created The Color Iz  last year at the Stonewall Inn which received a rave review on BroadwayWorld.com. They wish to use their artistic voices to advocate the importance  of this welcoming space and its preservation as a national historic landmark.

Inspired to help, they decided to offer a virtual reimagining of The Color Iz  for its year anniversary on Friday, August 14th as a fundraising campaign to support the Stonewall Inn.

100% of the donations will go to the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI).

*Once you have donated you will receive a link to view the online event on Friday, August 12th at 9pm EST-NYC.

**In addition, you will be sent a separate Zoom link to join the closing online dance party right after the performance hosted by the one and only DJ Jamal Rigault

Synopsis:

The Color Iz followed two main characters that entered the fictional club Altia with insecurity and reservation. They were both attracted and enthralled by the freedom and exuberance of this dance social and the “regulars” there. The evening took on a magical note and they eventually found the courage to fully express their true colors. The Color Iz paralleled the modern day Hustle dance club experience which is a social environment full of life and celebration. It is both racially and ethnically diverse with people of all ages dancing and interacting with each other, completely fluid in respect to relationships of gender and sexuality. It also honored the 50 year anniversary of the police riots that led to the birth of the gay pride movement and the main sponsor of the evening was True Colors Cava.
