The Christmas Danielle Never Had
I was raised to always show kindness to others in times of need. I was always told that if someone needs help you help them and you never expect anything in return because that’s what it means to be a good person.
Now I’m 21 and a mother. I would give up everything for my daughter. Just last night I helpedan old family bring food to just one of her 5 granddaughters who has been in foster care sinceshe was a toddler and being abandoned by her mother and then abandoned by the foster mom who only kept her for the money. We brought her to the storeto get her anything else she might need and once we were out of the car and in 30 degree weather we questioned why she wasn’t wearing ajacket, only to then learn that she didn’t own one. At that moment my heart sunk. I took my own jacket off and gave it to her and told her to keep it. All I could think was if one day my daughter had to tell someone that she was cold but didn’t own a jacket.
Later that night before I went home her grandmother went on to tell me that that’s the first time she’s been able to really call something hers and not have to share it. She then told me that the clothes she was wearing were all she owns. I can’t sit by and allow that to be her life.
So this holiday season we are asking for any donations you are willing to give in order for us to buy her new clothes and necessities for her daily life such as a bed, a dresser, new shoes, eat. Any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much and we hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season filled with love, joy, and kindness!!!!
