The Chicago Actors Studio Coronavirus Fundraiser

Donation protected
Dear Chicago Actors Studio students, friends, patrons and supporters of the performing arts.

For over 30 years, the Chicago Actors Studio has been an essential part of the Chicago performing arts community. In addition to offering professional personal training to the future stars of stage and screen, The school and its staff of teachers, have always been major supporters of local actors and performers, truly dedicated on a personal level in the pursuit of obtaining their dreams. Offering unparalleled professional training, career guidance, audition preparation, and so much more, including dedicating their free time to helping students outside the classroom, even on their days off, for free. Plus mounting many totally free networking events for students and others in the arts community, not to mention scholarships and internships for aspiring actors, doing everything in our power for those who can't afford classes.

Now, sadly, we need your help!

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of our students have been unable to come to class, and we've had to put all our theatrical performances & special events on hold. And now, as the pandemic has grown, and as you know, Governor Pritzker has declared a "stay-at-home" order, which has forced us to close our doors for several months, if not longer. This closure is devastating to us and our students, both financially and career-wise. I'm certain, we all know how difficult it is to find a training environment so personally dedicated to a student's growth and dreams, that it would be important to us all that a training facility like the The Chicago Actors Studio is still around, and that our teachers and students, present and future, have a home, when all the dust settles from this devastating period in our history.

After much reflection, we have made the decision to launch this campaign and reach out to all of you to pitch in whatever you can to help us pay our bills, like rent & utilities, and continue pay our office and teaching staff to minimize any hardship that they may be experiencing as well.

We know this is a challenging time for everybody, and we know you will help with whatever you can, but please, we do not want you to contribute anything you can't afford. If you are able, or you know someone who is able to help keep the doors of our school open, we would greatly appreciate you passing this on to them.

In the meantime, we have started up online workshop classes with Zoom. Call our offices at [phone redacted] to get all the schedules and other information. Because of our dedication to all of you out there, and appreciation for what the community is going through, to stay in concert with our dedication to your hopes and dreams, we will try to keep these online classes FREE for CAS students. In the meantime, whatever you can do to keep us going, in the form of donations, will, more than you know, be greatly appreciated. Plus on the upside, your donations may also be tax deductible.

So please be safe, healthy and vigilant, following all the safeguards outlines by the WHO and CDC and support each other in this crucial time of need.

God bless all of you.
