The Chewwy Fund

Chewwy is a 6month old Staffordshire bull terrier crossed with a Great Dane. He didn't have a great start to life. When Mike offered to take Chewwy on he was very weak. His ribs were visible, his back was curved and it became apparent his back legs were very weak.
The breeders had told him that he had been chipped and vaccinated and was 6months old. Mike took Chewwy to the vets and learned this was not the case. The vet said Chewwy had never seen a vet and the back curve and leg weakness was from being caged for the whole 6months of his life. He had not been vaccinated, wormed, or microchipped. Mike immediately reported these so called "breeders".
After having both initial vaccinations the vet noticed Chewwy's baby teeth were not falling out on their own, so he had to have an operation to remove 5 baby teeth.
Since having Chewwy Mike, with love and patience, has dedicated the majority of his life to rehabilitating Chewwy. His muscles began to strengthen, his back uncurl and he has come on leaps and bounds.
A week ago Chewwy developed a limp on his rear right leg. Mike once again took Chewwy to the vet where he was diagnosed with 'Patella Luxation'. This is a dislocation to the knee due to ligament damage. This also came before the 14day insurance wait period so Mike isnt covered. The operation will cost between £4000 & £5000 including x-rays.
We have watched Mike be beside himself with worry, he is absolutely heartbroken. Chewwy is still a happy bundle of joy even though he can't stand or walk. We would like to raise this money to help pay for the operation so that Mike and Chewwy can continue to be best pals and Chewwy can continue to have the life he deserves by Mike's side.
