The theme of this year's charity is " HOPE"
Hope is our fundamental word this year because 2020 has been an unprecedented year where a lot of lives, properties etc have been lost. Hope is the anchor people need to hold on too at this time. For that reason, we would be organizing 4 major events this year:
1. The kick against cancer - the general notion is that cancer is a death sentence. To restore hope and change the narrative we would be organising various outreaches where we will educate people on cancer, what to do to avoid cancer, what to do and lifestyle to have if cancer is in the body and also helping people who need financial assistance and are battling cancer.
2. Community impact- communities in Lagos are filled with people who need hope for what the future holds. These people have no jobs, no school, no healthcare, no food or basic amenities. We would be donating various food stuffs, clothes, free medical check up, counseling, schooling and business opportunities etc.
3. Prison visitation- people in prison have lost hope for a number of reasons such as no legal service, delay in the judicial system, no money, some are in prison for committing no offence, some in prison because of fines as little as 5,000, 10, 000 etc. The prison condition is very inhumane etc. We would be visiting the inmates and sharing words of hope with them, donating basic needs and working to release some of them through provision of legal representation and payment of fine.
4. Fund raising event- we would be raising funds to assist with Mental health, sickle cell and cancer. The funds raised will be used for creating awareness about cancer, purchasing various needs such as clothes, food, payment of school fees, carrying out free medical check up, assisting businesses, payment for people who have cancer, mental health and sickle cell and need financial assistance, payment to release inmates and assist with legal representation and lots more. Please donate towards this cause as we restore hope that was lost
