One of the sweetest families I know happens to be my brother Len’s family.  For those that know my brother, he is one of the most loyal guys with the kindest heart, a very hard worker and always puts his family first – he really is a “salt of the earth” kind of guy.  Len and his wife Jami have 2 beautiful children Ayden (7) and Alyssa (19) and I’m lucky to be their “Aunt Buffalo.”  The Cessac Family sustained much damaged from Harvey and while many of you have followed my posts and updates on Facebook – it is now time to tell their full story.  Their story really is no different than the thousands of others out there; however, when it hits home and you see your loved ones lose so much of what they have worked so very hard for – it is time to put our pride aside and reach out for help!  Len, Jami, Ayden and Alyssa Cessac have a beautiful home and have built a very comfortable life in Kingwood, Texas.  When the levees broke, their neighborhood was flooded and they sustained over 3 feet of water and have lost their entire downstairs.  Like 90% of the rest of these victims, they did not carry flood insurance so having to rebuild their kitchen, laundry room, guest room | office, dining room, living room, master suite and 2 bathrooms will all be out of pocket expenses.  Thankfully, Len and Jami have very solid jobs in medicine that they can return to; however, how does one financially plan for this type of disaster?  They have also lost their 3 vehicles (2 of which were brand new) and are lucky to have rental car coverage through their auto insurance policies; however, they are waiting on available cars.  During this time of rebuilding their home, they have amazing friends that have opened their homes up indefinitely as they will be displaced for who knows how long.  We want Ayden to have as much of a “normal” 2nd grade school year as he starts school next week.  Alyssa is in her sophomore year at University of Texas so her life will continue while she comes home to be a part of the “army of help.”  Many of you have asked how you can help?  Please continue your prayers and positive thoughts as they get through this next chapter.  For those that would like to give financially, I have taken the lead and set up this fund and while it is very difficult for my family to swallow this pill – they – we are forever grateful for everyone’s hand – it takes a village and I know they will come out stronger in the end, but until then...please continue to pray for their endurance and strength.  #CessacStrong #PrayforHouston.
