The Bristol Suspensions are a mixed a cappella group from the University of Bristol and international champions of a cappella as of 2019. Founded in 2014, we rose to prominence in the UK a cappella scene, winning The Voice Festival UK in 2016, appearing in BBC One's 'Pitch Battle' in 2017, winning the Irish A Cappella Festival in 2019, and placing 2nd in the ICCA UK finals two years in a row.
Known for our great energy and powerful vocals, we have performed at venues across the UK, toured North-Eastern USA , taken five shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, released an EP and numerous music videos.
Last summer, we organised our very own virtual Fringe Fest, releasing videos of past performances and new lockdown videos - go check them out! Now in our 7th year of existence (with some incredible new members) we are hoping to record and release our first ever professional album!
How can you help?
In normal circumstances, our fundraising efforts would include busking in Cabot Circus at the weekend, putting on an End of Year Show in the Spring, and performing at various gigs throughout the year. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we have been unable to do these things and have been forced to come up with alternative (online) options. It may seem a little ambitious, but we are hopeful that with YOUR help, we can raise enough money for an amazing album by the end of the summer!
Any donations at all would be massively appreciated - the more funds we raise, the more songs we can release :)
Thank you so much for your love and support! We can't wait to show you what we've been working on this year!
