Dear friends and family,
We want to begin by saying thank you for taking a moment to read our story. We are writing this after many years of prayer and careful consideration. Long before we ever met, the Lord planted the desire in each of our hearts to one day grow our family through adoption. I vividly recall one of the very first conversations we had was about how we both felt called to adopt. One reason we feel so strongly about this, is because through Christ Jesus adoption is our story too. We are born children of wrath; no hope, no future, and dead in our sins. But God, who is so rich in mercy and love for us, made us alive. He adopted us as His children and gave us a future; a new hope and new name. We are heirs of God; given the Holy Spirit as a pledge of our inheritance. (Ephesians 1)
We have officially begun our home study, which is the very first step on this journey. Our home study should take 6-8 weeks to complete. Once that is done, we will begin applying for as many grants as we are eligible for.
During this time, we ask first and foremost that you join us in prayer for every family and individual involved in this entire process. Please pray that the name of Jesus will be magnified through us and that the Lord will guide and guard our hearts every step of the way.
Secondly, as all of you know adoption is expensive, so we ask that you prayerfully consider supporting us financially. We are stepping out in prayer and faith, believing that God (who has already been faithfully working in this) will see it through to completion.
We are so grateful for the love and support already shown to us, and we cannot wait to watch the Lord work during this journey of ours!
