The Bentzinger's Rebuild

On August 29th, our home (Kaitlin & Chris Bentzinger in Katy, Tx) started to take on water from the unprecedented pooling of Barker Reservoir from Hurricane Harvey. Based on the debris line on the front door, we believe up to 6" of water got inside. All flooring was destroyed except for some tiled areas as well as some pieces of furniture. We are still uncertain if any of our appliances were damaged beyond repair. Although we did have flood insurance, we are expecting some out of pocket costs. At this time we are unsure of how much that will be until the insurance adjuster can do their inspection. With the help of friends and family, we were able to begin demo and clean up. Three days later, everything has been moved out, flooring removed, power/AC restored, and Sheetrock torn out 4' high throughout the house. 
In addition to flooding, our neighbor next door had a fire start in their home. The area was unoccupied so by the time responders arrived, their house was destroyed. We do not know yet how much, if any, damage that fire caused to our home.
The money from this funding will go towards costs related to rebuilding our home so it is livable again as it is needed.
