We believe that healing as a community is integral in our liberation as a people. The goal of Aura House is to build a powerful community through the radical act of healing individually and communally. Though this project is open to all women our focus will be centering black women. As black women, we are rarely granted the space, time, and resources to heal & take care of ourselves. We are regularly the caretakers, organizers, integral members of communities and are never prioritized, protected, and our needs are always being compromised. We must create these sacred places for ourselves and deserve the right to spaces where we are free to openly discuss issues that directly affect us.
We facilitate workshops to create a safe space where black & brown women can support one another on their personal path of self-empowerment. We do this by offering different types of workshops; mindfulness, healing circles, political education, self-care, nutrition, ancestral and spirituality practices, and so much more. As a collective, we aim to create a culture of understanding, self-care & spirituality by teaching each other. We occupy spaces that serves for all ages. Mental illness is very much stigmatized and criminalized for black and people of color and we are not receiving proper holistic care.

Funds will go towards paying healers, practitioners, facilitators, securing a physical space, technology, professional licenses. So we can make our services free and sliding scale for everyone.
