Nooresh Juglall was a young man who came from a very modest background and his dream was to become a jockey one day.
After years of hard work and sacrifice, his dream became a reality.
He went to South Africa to start his apprenticeship and he was champion apprentice for 2 yrs.
His riding career took off and he went on to ride in different countries and he became a talented rider.
Little did he know that his final destination was going to be his home country- Mauritius. Last year he was crowned Champion Jockey in Mauritius.
On Saturday 15th May, he was very excited to start the new Mauritian racing season it was the first day of the season. He said goodbye to his wife and his 2 little boys and that was the last time they saw him alive. During the 7th race, he got on his last ride for the day probably hoping that he would ride his first winner for the season and he fell during the race and he never got up. His last ride for the day was his last ride ever. He was only 29yrs old and he lost his life, leaving behind his young wife, Chaaya and his 2 little boys, Aryaan (2 1/2 yrs old) and Ahaan (1 1/2yrs old). Nooresh was a kind and generous person, he looked after his family and always worked hard to provide for them.
We have set up this fund to raise money for his boys, they will grow up without their father to guide them through life and no one will be able to replace him in their hearts but we can make sure that they have enough money to get a good education and a good life like the one their father would have wanted them to have and would have given them if he was still with us.
Please give what you can to support these 2 little boys and give them a comfortable life.
