In loving memory of Eugene Arao. We are heartbroken to say that our father, brother, uncle, and loving husband Eugene died suddenly on July 25, 2020, after a one-in-a-million accident at Stampede Reservoir.
He was taken away too soon from his family who he loved more than anything in the world. Eugene leaves behind his wife and soulmate Cristina and three sons: 16-year-old Jeffrey, 15-year-old Cody, and 12-year-old Brady. He and Cristina were high school sweethearts and they had just celebrated 30 years together. Eugene is also survived by his mother Enae, two brothers Mario and Jay, and sister Aimee.
Our community also benefited from Eugene's 6 years of honorable service in the US Army and over 20 years as a local postal carrier here in Reno, NV.
Eugene was only 47 years old when he passed, and the world is a little less bright without him. As many of you know, Eugene was the kind of person that was impossible not to love: you couldn't help but smile and feel loved in his presence. He believed in the best in everyone. He was everyone's best friend. And for the short time we were lucky to have him on this earth, we saw no end to his warmth, care, and compassion.
We love him and miss him more than words can ever express, and it is hard to imagine what we will do now without him. We only wish he had more time with his wife and sons that he loved so, so much.
As we try to move forward, we appreciate all the messages and love that you've sent us already. Your prayers and kind words mean so much, and we're humbled for your offers of support. Funds will go directly to Cristina, Jeffrey, Cody, and Brady to cover final expenses and medical costs, since his son Cody was also briefly hospitalized as a result of the accident.
