Update on Anna- 01/04/2023

Dear Anna's Army,

After two years of battling with multiple sclerosis, 65 days since her glioblastoma diagnosis, one brain biopsy, two tumor resection surgeries, one shunt implantation surgery, two external ventricular drains placed and 59 days in the hospital, we have come to the point where our warrior needs her rest. In true Anna form, she has been fighting ferociously against every challenge placed before her, with her head held high knowing she has given every ounce of strength she has in an attempt to kick this cancer's ass. Anna will be entering hospice care in the coming days.

On behalf of the whole family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your continued prayers and support.

Update on Anna- 12/29/2022

Anna's journey with chemotherapy and radiation has been put on hold for the time being. Although she is still in the ICU, Anna continues to have daily wins with her physical therapy. Yesterday she was able to tolerate solid food for the first time in over two weeks. Her next procedure will take place on Tuesday, January 3rd where they will be doing a valve replacement on her shunt and placing a permanent feeding tube.

We are asking all our prayer warriors to keep Anna in mind as she continues her fight. We are truly grateful to all of you for your love and support. God bless you all.

Update on Anna- 12/20/2022

Anna took a turn over the weekend and unfortunately, not for the better. A feeding tube was placed on Saturday afternoon and she was moved back to the ICU. Radiation has been put on hold until tomorrow to give her time to build up her energy to finish out her last three days of radiation treatment.

Update on Anna- 12/15/2022

This morning Anna was officially moved out of the ICU and transferred to a regular floor. Though her fight is far from over, we are grateful for the win. She will continue with her radiation treatment for the remainder of the week, with a break over the weekend.

Update on Anna- 12/12/2022

Anna starts her second week of radiation today. She continues to fight with everything she has at the moment, so prayers are much appreciated for her strength. While she still remains in the ICU, we are hopeful that she will be moved out at some point this week.

Update on Anna- 12/9/2022

Anna's surgery was successful. She will continue with radiation treatments, chemotherapy and physical therapy. She remains in the ICU for now and will continue to work on her strength over the next few days. Please continue to share, pray and fight with Anna.

Update on Anna- 12/7/2022

Anna has completed day 3 of chemotherapy and radiation treatments and remains in her positive and strong-willed state of mind. She is working with physical therapists on her physical strength and was able to enjoy breakfast with Clay sitting in a chair. Anna is scheduled for her 3rd surgery on December 8th to have a shunt implanted to help drain cerebrospinal fluid building up in her brain and redirect it to another location where it can be absorbed.

Update on Anna- 12/3/2022

Anna was rushed into emergency surgery on the evening of Wednesday, November 30th, to undergo her second tumor resection surgery. Anna remains in the ICU, continuing to recover from surgery. Her cancer is very aggressive and fast-moving, so the decision has been made to act aggressively with radiation and chemotherapy starting Monday, December 5th.

Dear Friends and Family,

Our beautiful Anna was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the fall of 2020. Being that Juvenile MS is not a common diagnosis, Anna entered into a clinical trial and agreed to be a part of a medical study to bring light to the disease and to help those with a similar diagnosis in the future. Over the past year and a half, Anna has been routinely monitored for lesion growth and was deemed to be in remission. In October of 2022, Anna underwent a routine scan that unfortunately led to her unimaginable diagnosis of Glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer. Our girl will begin the fight of her life in the days to come as she undergoes chemotherapy and radiation inpatient treatments at Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Anna is a warrior, and as we rally around her, we thank the Lord our Savior for providing Anna with friends and family like you. Just as the old saying goes, "It takes a village." We thank you, the members of our village, for your continued support as we navigate this new journey ahead.
