The Afghan people need your help

Afghanistan’s health system is on the brink of collapse. Millions of Afghans will lose access to even the most basic health services following the loss of funding from international donors. 

HealthNet TPO, which provides healthcare for 2.6 million people in Eastern Afghanistan and Kabul, is asking members of the public to support hospitals directly by raising €250,000 to provide a week’s financial support for their doctors and healthcare workers so they can stay open during this crisis. 

A HealthNet TPO doctor in Kabul said:
“Health centres and hospitals are running short of resources, I need funding within weeks to continue our health services. I have pregnant mothers, malnourished children, COVID-19 patients, elderly people, all of whom need medications, treatments and our doctors. We need fuel to run generators and ambulances, food for patients and operation theatres need supplies."

Who benefits from your donation?

Donations to this cause will go directly to funding the hospitals, health staff and health management staff in Afghanistan so that health services can continue. We aim to support affected civilians by keeping normal health services running during this crisis. 

Your donation will go towards:

·         Paying health staff salary, who have not been paid since July. This is often a family’s only sources of income to buy food. 

·         Buying essential medicines and medical supplies.

·         Food for patients recovering in our hospitals

·         Fuel to run generators for electricity and ambulances.

By raising €250,000 you can support Afghans directly by providing a week's financial support to keep health facilities open. HealthNet TPO needs at least €250,000 before the 15th September, otherwise we will be forced to begin closing down health facilities.  Thousands will lose their jobs and their only source of income. Millions will lose access to life-saving healthcare. The Afghan health system is running out of time.
