Hi friends and family! We are so excited to announce the arrival of our second son! Here is the long story short:
Last week we found out about a birth mom who was looking to be matched with adoptive parents and she thought she was due at the end of September. So we sent our profile in to her on Friday morning. We didn't hear anything until yesterday (Tuesday) when I got a phone call while I was at work and the attorney let me know that not only has she chosen us to be this baby's parents but that she was currently in labor at a hospital over an hour away!
I immediately left work, ran home, we packed our bag and jumped in the car! We got to the hospital at 12:20 PM and our son was born just 20 minutes earlier. Within minutes we got to meet his birth mommy and him and just like that, we became a family of 4!
He came into the world with his own set of challenges but all things considered, he is doing really well. They need to monitor him for a minimum of seven days and then we will see after that when he can come home. They are letting us stay here for up to seven days in the hospital if we want to (which is amazing!) but we are also anxious to get back to Crew.
Knowing that we wanted to adopt again soon, we started putting some money aside into savings but we had no idea it would be this fast and we humbly say that we just don't have enough.
It looks like we still in need around $8500 (estimated depending on some legal fees, etc.) and $7500 of that is due by this FRIDAY! Asking for help is always so tough and not fun but we learned from our first adoption not to run from it and so many crazy-amazing blessings came from the help we got from people. This certainly takes a village and our boys will always know that!
Please pray for this sweet baby and for his health and development to improve quickly. Please pray for immediate bonding and attachment for all of us as we get to know each other and that he would feel at home with us. Please also pray for the birth-mom who went home with empty arms yesterday. Finally, please pray for a name for this little guy!
