The Thanksgiving food drive is back for year 13! 2020 has been challenging for so many of us. But together we are strong, and we will get through this! Through your amazing generosity, Families Helping Families was able to provide the Bellevue School District with nearly 800 amazing Thanksgiving Meal Bags for families experiencing food scarcity in 2019.
As we kick off our donations for 2020, we want to share a message from the Equity Project Leader & National Board Program Coordinator for the Bellevue School District, Melissa Slater:
“Since March, the need in our community has grown and we anticipate 1000+ families needing food assistance over the Thanksgiving weekend. We are so thankful to incredible partners like Families Helping Families who work to meet the need right here in Bellevue!”
Remember, it is not the meal that was on our plates that creates the memory; it is the people we are with and the love in our hearts that we take away from the table.
Being hungry is not the memory I want for our friends and neighbors!
Together we can create memories establishing a “spiral of love.” This always starts at home. Kindness and togetherness allow the spiral to grow into peace in the world!
Please join us in celebrating gratitude for all our gifts and create holiday magic for our neighbors in need as the spiral begins at home!
