Thanksgiving Meals at Immaculate

Thanksgiving at Immaculate Conception Parish on 150th Street has evolved over the decades starting as a small dinner for seniors who used Neumann Hall as their senior center in 1977 to more recently being a place for hundreds of volunteers to serve over 200 to-go meals and 200 meals in house. Our annual dinner at Neumann Hall has been a safe and welcoming space to all who entered and that has always been thanks to the dedicated scores of volunteers who have shown up year in and year out to help donate, set up, and serve. In 2020, for the first time in 44 years, we had to forgo our traditional in-person holiday dinner and do only to-go meals. We were able to raise enough money to provide over 400 meals for members of the community thanks to the generous donations we received last year.

 

We are once again asking for your donations. We remain dedicated to ensuring that our community members have meals and are currently arranging to have pre-purchased individual to-go meals available for our senior neighbors, delivering meals on Wednesday and having pick up meals ready on Thanksgiving Day. At the cost of $10 per meal, our goal is to be able to provide meals for 500 community members this year. We're working alongside several other wonderful community organizations to ensure that the needs of the larger community are met during this season and are dedicated to providing seniors with the meal we have been able to offer to them for over 40 years.
