Thanksgiving Dinner Our Way

Hi my name is Tasha Wells. I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. I am asking for assistance in donations b/c I am planning a Thanksgiving Dinner and food drive for the Homeless and Local struggling families.We also would like to send these families or individuals home with a bag of groceries and or blankets to stay warm during this changing season. 
The dinner is scheduled for November 23, 2019 from 3-6pm. We will provide a hot meal and fellowship for these individuals. Mygoal is to feed up to 100 people. I want people to know that there are still people who care. I've recently started a group on FaceBook to provide resources for families and individuals who are going thru a hard time right now. The group was created October 21, 2019. To date we have gained 241 new members. I had no idea that this would start to take off so quickly. In this little time we have managed to provide for families already. We have assisted in clothing and food assistance.

I've contacted Feed More to hopefully become a member so that I can start a food box donation also. Unforunately that is a process and takes time to get set up. I come to you to ask for your assistance b/c these resources are coming from myself and others who are donating to make these families lives a little less hectic around the holidays. Resources are running low and we need help in securing a building to house this dinner. We also need assistance in continuing to purchase food for this event. I am grateful for all donations and I know these families will be as well. Our goal is to have the money raised by November 18, 2019. I know this is short notice. I have planned some fundraisers to help raise the money but fell ill which prevented me from getting out there as much as I would have liked to. This amount is the only thing that will prevent us from feeding these families. Richmond , VA has one of the highest poverty rates, in fact we are the second highest on the list. Please help me make a difference in someones life.

Many of todays youth never get to experience proper bonding time with their parents b/c of them having to pick up extra shifts to make end meet, it’s our goal to ensure that one family at a time has this opputunity.
Your support will help feed 100 people this Holoday season and provide them with food to take home as well. It will place them in an environment where they feel welcomed and cared for while they are going thru these trying times. We helpsfamilies who are financially strapped but need and want to do more for their families.
We provide clothing, food and support to our families– including understanding self and personal values, life skills, dealing with family stress.
Through our media sponsors, community partnerships and our own financial assistance process, we can offer 100 familes the support needed to make it through another stressful day
