Joined Hands Thanksgiving Dinner

The Joined Hands Food Pantry has been serving the northwest side of Chicago for over a decade, in conjunction with St. John's Lutheran Church and School, (4939 W Montrose), Our Lady of Victory, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and the St Vincent dePaul Society. Our pantry provides 150+ families with food every week throughout the year. We also aid other local pantries such as the Jehovah Lutheran Church's food pantry (Ridgeway and Belden) and St Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Parish (Long and Belden).

We usually host a Thanksgiving Dinner open to the public. Last year on the big day, we served 500+ at the gymnasium at St John's. and made dozens of deliveries to those who were unable to attend in person. Many people come who would otherwise have nowhere to go for Thanksgiving and we are able to make the holiday special for them with food, entertainment, camaraderie, and community.

This year (for the first time) we need to turn to the community for additional support to make the Thanksgiving dinner happen. We would like to have this campaign funded by the end of October so that we can put this event on.
