Texas Family in Need of Your Help and Prayers

Donation protected
Hi, I am writing this on behalf of a beautiful family we've been blessed to come to know since moving to Texas -- a family that has gone through the unimaginable and deeply needs our help. They have my most sincere prayers and deepest respect. They have demonstrated such faith and strength in the heat of extremely difficult times and situations. Please read and share their story and donate as generously as you're able.

After much prayer and consideration, and after overcoming what they thought was one of the hardest seasons of their lives, this sweet family decided to relocate to Texas and start fresh with new jobs, a new home, and a new pregnancy. Little did they know they'd soon be entering what was truly the most difficult of times, and all very much alone.

With a history of challenging pregnancies, it soon became very apparent that this pregnancy would quickly turn their world upside down. While the wife kept finding herself in the hospital every week and/or having nurses in their home every other day, the husband was trying to juggle his new job and their three children. After two of eight hospitalizations, the husband finally broke down in tears and had to quit his job to stay home and help his deathly ill wife and their sweet, young children.

The list of the wife's health scares and troubles quickly became extensive and life threatening. Among an exhausting list of issues, she dealt with severe hyperemesis gravidarum (which required two PICC lines), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), staph infection (that caused a blood clot near her heart and nearly cost her her life at just 13 weeks pregnant), gestational diabetes, cholestasis, polyhydramnios, preeclampsia, kidney stone, kidney failure, two life-saving surgeries, and more. To say she’s been through it is a massive understatement.

All the while, her devoted husband did all he could to care for her, tend to their children, keep their home, and carry their family. He spent every sleepless night by his wife’s side, cleaned every puke bucket, gave her hundreds of doctor-prescribed, home injections to keep her alive, took children to and from school, attended church and the temple as often as he could and dared, drove to the hospital countless times, pushed his wife in a wheelchair, helped her to the bathroom, bathed her, cooked, cleaned… and all this while being shamed and belittled for not working, yet never losing faith or determination.

As if all of that isn’t enough, after being jobless since November and being bombarded with medical and legal expenses, the family is facing mounting financial struggles. In an effort to save their home and repay debts, they have scheduled an estate sale to sell their personal belongings, including their truck and all home furnishings.

I want more than anything to spare them from having to sell all that they own to make it through what is hopefully the final stretch of this very trying life season, so I plead with each of you to donate what you can and invite others to do the same.

This dear family is an amazing example of faith, fortitude, humility, and gratitude. Let’s rally behind them and be a blessing to them.
