Phi Delta Theta Texas Eta: Help Pay Off and Preserve the Chapter House
The Texas Eta Housing Corporation and Alumni of Phi Delta Theta Texas Eta have launched a capital campaign in an effort to raise funding in order to preserve our Chapter House.
Situated on what is known as Greek Row, in Nacogdoches, Texas, for almost 20 years our chapter house has been a tremendous asset to our active members and a point of aspiration for non-Greek men. Our house has also acted as an anchor for our Alumni to come back to visit and for various visitors from other chapters across the country.
Regrettably, as of August 2019, the Chapter was placed on suspension due to violating various policies and rules set by Stephen F. Austin and by Phi Delta Theta General Headquarters. Various Texas ETA Alumni have been working tirelessly with both university officials and our GHQ in an effort to rectify the situation.
At present, our plan is to work with a team from GHQ in order to recolonize the Chapter as soon as the suspension is lifted. The goal is Fall 2021, if not before. While we reorganize and form a new colony, our chapter’s greatest asset needs to be preserved. The current cost to carry the Chapter House is $3,500 a month (note payment, taxes, insurance, etc.). In addition, some repairs and updates will be needed for occupancy by the new brothers of Phi Delta Theta.
$150,000 would secure our Chapter House and our legacy at Stephen F. Austin State University.
