Texas bound for dogs

Frank and I are heading down to Texas in 2 weeks to pick up as many dogs as we can fit into our rental van and do some rescue work. We are bringing the dogs back for Coveted Canines Rescue and the Etobicoke Humane Society here in Toronto, Ontario.

These dogs are not displaced dogs. They were in the shelter system before the Hurricane. By taking dogs out of the shelter system it allows rescues in Texas to put the displaced dogs in and give them a safe place. 

The resources of shelters in Texas are stretched to beyong capacity. Our goal is to pay these shelters $150.00 for every dog that we take. The shelter incurs costs to vet the dog and get them ready for travel. It is only fair we help them recoup their costs especially at this time.  We are also raising money to offset any vetting that may need to be done once they get back to Toronto. 

This fund raiser is only for the costs to pull the dogs in Texas and give the rescues here funds to do any additional vetting that maybe needed. At this point we are not sure how many dogs we will be bringing back. The smaller the dogs the more we can take. We will know more in the next few days.

We will not be using any of these funds for the rental vehicle, gas, food, our own expenses, etc. These funds are only for the dogs and their vetting. 

We will be posting a lot of photos so you will see where your money is going.
