Tevin Obiga Funeral Support Fund

Tevin Obiga, a fourth-year computer engineering student at the University of Manitoba, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Boniface Hospital’s ICU in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

 

Tevin fell ill and was admitted to the hospital on January 13. On January 19, he was moved to the intensive care ward where he remained hooked up to several machines, including a lung bypass machine, until his death.

 

This is a tragic turn for the family of a previously healthy and active young man and they need all our support. Instead of coming to Canada for his graduation, the family is planning for his final journey. If all goes according to plan, Tevin’s body will be transported from Winnipeg to Nairobi in about 2-3 weeks from now. The funeral date is yet to be determined.

 

We are therefore calling upon family, friends and well wishers to give our young brother a befitting send-off by contributing whatever one can towards these plans, budgeted at approximately $20,000.
