Terry's Car Replacement fund

It is difficult for me to ask for help but in this case I don't know what else to do.  On November 22, 2017 (the night before Thanksgiving) I was returning home from Catskill, NY and was involved in a serious auto accident.  My car was completely totaled and I seriously aggravated an existing back problem.  Without my seat belt and air bags I would have been killed, Since my car was over 20 years old and had almost no Bluebook value, I didn't have any collision.  Thankfully, my car insurance will take car of the medical bills.  I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment in an area where a car is a necessity.  There are no services or stores for miles and  Taxi cabs are very expensive ($60 for a round trip).  I need to replace my car and become self sufficient once again.  Without a car, I can't go to my Doctor visits or my Physical Therapy sessions (twice a week).  I can't buy groceries or go to the Pharmacy.  I don't go out that often but there is piece of mind knowing that I can.  I have been out of work since Summer and am surviving on $166 a week unemployment. I have almost no savings as I have spent over $250,000 on Medical bills during the last 20 years.  My friends and neighbors will tell you that I am the first person to volunteer to take someone without a car to the store, Doctor, etc.  I have a friend in the used car business who is looking for a good, reliable inexpensive car in the $1000 - $1500. range.  If you are able to give, any amount will be appreciated.  Getting a replacement car would be life changing for me!
