Terrys Cancer Treatment fund round five

Donación protegida

My husband, Terry McCommas, was Diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer on September 25, 2017, that has spread to his liver snow to his lungs and bones. This diagnoses completely blindsided us. We went to the doctor because he was experiencing abdominal pains that we thought might be appendix or gall bladder related. He spent 10 days in the hospital and underwent  surgery to remove the cancer from his colon, He will need lots of chemo treatments for the large masses in his liver. His Oncologist said surgery on his liver is not an option and that he will probably have to have chemo for the rest of his life. He finished Phase two of chemo that began in the middle of January, 2019. He will continue with chemo twice a month starting December 4, 2019.

After  exhausting every chemo cocktail available for his type of cancer, he is now on taking chemo pills. The first first chemo pill, Stirvarga, had to be stopped after his third round. Cancer kept growing and side effects were severe. He just finished his second round of LonSurf and is cleared for round three.  He finishes radiation treatment today.

For those who know Terry, he is a hard worker and has been holding down a job to supplement his retirement benefits. Being unable to work because of cancer cuts his earning by more than half. I don't want him to be concerned with anything but fighting this Cancer.

Because of this illness our income has been significantly reduced, but our costs have risen over night, especially since Medicare started on December 1, 2019.  We went from $0 monthly premium to a little over $300 per month. In addition, the oncologist and nutritionist say that in order for him to be strong enough to endure the chemo treatments, his diet must change to include many supplements that add more expense to our already expanded grocery budget.  To fight the negative effects of the chemo he needs to consume about three times more per day than what he has been eating. The need is urgent. Terry will do his part to fight this Cancer. He just needs some sponsors to ease the financial burden. Thank you in advance for all your prayers, encouragement and help. Doctor now wants him drinking 4 protein shakes per day so the swelling in his feet will go down. Cancer is robbing his body of protein necessary to pump fluid where it needs to go. They are so swollen they are are leaking fluid. Plus, he has radiationburns on the top of his feet.

No matter what, we know God is in control. Terry takes one day at a time and remainshopeful. Thank you all so much for all your prayers, encouragement and support ❤️
