My dad has been diagnosed with life-threatening non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver … now the crazy part is he’s never drank a single beer in his life or taken any type of drug (that’s not an exaggeration). Over the last couple of months, he’s been in and out of the hospital for a number of reasons. Due to his liver condition his stomach constantly fills up with massive amounts of fluid and he needs to get it drained 1-3 times a month. Last Thursday I had to rush him to the hospital because his stomach was so full his lungs were being suffocated by the fluid and he could barely breathe. They drained over 26 pounds of fluid out of his stomach, compared to roughly 10 pounds in the past. While conducting the procedure, the doctors noticed something wrong with his kidney and transferred him to a transplant specialist hospital. While there, they noticed that his white blood cells are 1900 when the white blood cell count should be at 100-200 and they also noticed he has an infection in the fluid from his stomach, that could kill him if it reaches his blood stream. The doctors are making him go on an antibiotic now that he will have to take for life that will help reduce the chance of infection, and that medication will now add to his ever-growing amount of medicine and medical bills that he can not afford. He needs to buy food, pay bills, and pay his continuously increasing bills every month.




Even with all the issues, my dad has he still tries to work every day he can. Numerous times he has been sent home because he was too sick to work.  Due to his condition and the number of times he’s had to go to the hospital, he hasn’t been able to work as many hours at work as he usually does. He has fallen drastically behind on his bills and the ability to buy the medicine to keep him alive. I’m not sure how to really ask but I’m a college student and only work part-time so I’m unable to help him with money because I barely cover my own bills every month. Any donation will help and every dollar will go straight to my dads bank account to help pay for his bills & medical expenses.
