Terri's Tribe

My name is Sierra Hutto, Terri Carlson's daughter. I created this campaign to help support my family while we work to help my Mom recover from her major stroke. Thank you for taking the time to learn about her condition and journey to recovery.

Here's a wonderful article written by Jeb Bing from the Pleasanton Weekly:

You can find her story and progress below:

On Monday, March 12th, Terri Carlson, creator and owner of Milfleur  in Pleasanton, suffered a massive stroke.

Terri has always felt that each person crossing the threshold of Milfleur does so for more than shopping. They come in to share a sense of community, soulful connection, and love- the things Terri most values in this life.

Terri has created a magical oasis at Milfleur and those of us who frequent her shop know all about that magic, whether you are looking for a special gift made by local artisans or just need a warm embrace and listening ear, the door is always open .

She has been a business woman and supporter of the community, since 1979 when she opened her first design studio and shop, Mother Nature's, in Pleasanton. Terri has lovingly donated to local charities and held countless fundraisers for organizations such as Paws in Need, Open Heart Kitchen, and the Amador Valley High School PTSA.

Milfleur has been voted Pleasanton Downtown Association Best Place to Buy a Gift & Home Décor winner. For 14 years, Terri used her creative artistry to decorate Castlewood Country Club during the holidays. Her beloved husband, Rick, has worked alongside her creating the beautiful space that is Milfleur, assisting with fundraisers and events. She has long been a valuable and generous contributor to our community. Her daughter, Sierra, has been involved in helping her parents with the shop over the years, all while balancing school and creating a fulfilling career for herself- making this the true embodiment of a family business.

The road ahead is long and her prognosis is guarded. Doctors speculate she could have many months of rehabilitation in a long term care facility and she will never be able to work again.

Terri has been a blessing to this community for many, many years and now she and her family need our support and love more than ever. Please consider donating and spreading the word to those that have known Terri and felt her warmth and love throughout the years.

Big or small, every bit helps.

Blessings
