Terri Stella Recovery

Donation protected
Saturday, July 8th, Terri and her sister Val were almost back from a 50 mile bike. They were training for the Seattle to Portland 220 mile bike ride to take place that following Saturday. For unknown reasons, while doing about 17 mph on the bike trail, Terri fell sideways. She landed on her head and face. With the help of her sister and other trail patrons they were able to keep her shaded and stable. Upon arrival to the emergency room we were told she sustained severe road rash on every limb, she fractured both orbital bones, cheekbones, and forehead. Had brain bleed on the front and back of her brain. (It stabilized and so far doesn't require surgery.) She was in a coma for a little over a day and spent the next couple of days in the ICU. She has since been placed in the Traumatic Brain Injury wing of St Lukes rehabilitation where she will remain until further notice. Things are still very confusing and difficult for her, as to be expected. She is facing a long lengthy recovery. She's a tough cookie (Chocolate chip) and we will be supporting her every step of the way. However, as you all know insurance only goes so far and covers so much. I am creating this account in order to alleviate the stress of medical bills so that Terri and her family's attention can be focused on getting her back to the life full of yoga, spin, compost, pharmacy, grandkids, walks, family time, and cycling that she loves so much. Thank you in advance for any contributions.
