<div>On August 10, 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia, leaving hundreds dead and thousands of homes destroyed — the strongest earthquake to hit the country in a decade.

<div>Who we are and where we write from: We are Fundación Construyamos Colombia, a nonprofit with 26 years of track record, based in Pereira, Risaralda (NIT 816006359). For years we have prepared and delivered meals to vulnerable communities alongside Colombia's child welfare institute (ICBF), through school feeding, early childhood, and elderly care programs. From day one of this emergency, we activated that same operational capacity — kitchens, warehouses, transport, and staff — to respond.

<div>Our relationship to the families we serve: We are not intermediaries. We are the team on the ground cooking, packing, and delivering aid directly, working alongside shelters and local organizations in the affected areas.

<div>We know how quickly an emergency changes everyday life. That's why we're bringing what's essential: hot meals prepared with care, baby supplies, hygiene kits, and real presence for the families who have lost everything.

<div>How the funds will be used: 100% of donations raised go toward (i) purchasing food and supplies to prepare hot meals, (ii) hygiene items and baby products, (iii) transport and logistics to reach hard-to-access areas, and (iv) direct operating costs of the emergency response (packaging, fuel, kitchen and distribution staff). <div>¿Quiénes somos y de dónde escribimos: Somos Fundación Construyamos Colombia, una organización sin ánimo de lucro con 26 años de trayectoria, con sede en Pereira, Risaralda (NIT 816006359). Desde hace años preparamos y entregamos alimentos a comunidades vulnerables junto al ICBF, a través de programas de alimentación escolar, primera infancia y adulto mayor. Desde el primer día de esta emergencia activamos esa misma capacidad operativa —cocinas, bodegas, transporte y equipo humano— para responder.
