Terrell Jensen, You're a survivor

I would like to tell you about my best friends son, Terrell Jensen. He is a funny witty and caring young man who would do anything for his family and friends. He loves the outdoor and animals, he likes doing things his own way and doesn't like giving up! We have known Terrell since he was born and know that he has a heart of gold. His life has changed dramatically since this past Sunday November 24, 2019. During a tragic sledding accident he was severely injured, the account below describes what happed that day.


His mother wrote this to family and friends:
Our son, Terell, who is 18 was involved in a freak sledding accident on Sunday. He hit a patch of icy snow and was thrown off the sled into a few smaller aspen trees and landed on a rock. He never hit his head but he did break his C5, T5 and T6 vertebrae’s. We had a miracle and I was able to get cell reception up the mountain near Strawberry Reservoir. Life flight came and transported us to Utah Valley Hospital. Little miracles have been happening everyday from getting his first surgery an hour and a half after arriving to the hospital to being able to bend and move his arms towards his head and eyebrows in less than 24 hours after surgery.
He will have surgery tomorrow to finish stabilizing his neck and hopefully Friday he will have surgery on his mid-back. His fever of 24 hours is starting to go down. Hopefully his lung will start to clear out.

As I write this Terrell is in surgery for the second and probably not the last of many surgeries. At this moment he is not able to move anything below his chest and he has not feeling in his waist  or feet. Doctors are  trying to keep his hands and fingers from mobile. Terrell is communicating with family due to all the tubes in him mouth by moving his eyebrows when answering "Yes or No" questions as well as blinking his eyes when his family spells out the alphabet so he can spell out words. He enjoys company visiting him in the hospital and ask to hold their hand when they are in the room. Terrell is keeping his sense of humor durning all this and smiles when he feels something is funny.

  This will be a long road to recovery for Terrell and his family. There will be many long hours of care by medical professionals and possibly months of staying at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo Utah .
His family will have to adjust their lives in many ways to accommodate for the needs that Terrell will have once he is sent home. Do to the immense care that will be required to help Terrell and his family, we decided to set up a Go-Fund-Me account, to help alleviate the the stress of the many hospital bills, physical therapy and modifications to there house. We invite friends, family, and everyone in between to help the Jensens and terrell during their time of need.
