Some of you may know our story, that 2 years ago, my wife Amy was struck with a serious form of breast cancer while pregnant with our daughter. Sadly, after battling the cancer into remission while miraculously bringing our daughter into the world, the cancer has come back with a vengeance. Now we're preparing for the last stage of this battle.
Two weeks ago, we learned that Amy's cancer has spread to her lungs, lymph nodes, and spine. It's aggressive stage 4. We were told that her life will be measured in months and years, and while we continue to pray for a miracle, we're also steeling our resolve for the tough days ahead.
Together, we've gotten over the initial shock of an early death for my wife, and all the things it means: her not seeing my daughter go to college, not seeing her get married, and not meeting her grandchildren . It's sad to think about this loss, but we have faith in God, and as a family we are determined to live the best life we possibly can.
My hope is to raise funds to offset medical expenses that I estimate will be in excess of $30k, and childcare costs that will range from $7-10K. To extend her life, we're determined to treat the cancer as aggressively as possible. I plan to work througout this last stage of the illness to help provide for my family, and to keep our high deductible health insurance plan in tact.
