 Hey Friends, Fans, Family,
The UPDATE DEC 2022: For you Go Fund Me friends, I give you the full 411 on what's been up with my recording process. You've SO been patient and I'm eternally grateful for that patience and faith in me. If you'd rather skip the details, please feel free to jump to the invite to my February Zoom Show & a video link below of a little impromptu karaoke video recording I made of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" during my Winter Student Recital with my warmest regards & wishes for a bright new year. The performance is a little rough as I continue to deal with chronic health issues affecting my voice, but it bolstered my heart and gave me hope to be able to sing again at a reasonable level. I hope it warms your heart into the new year!

The Start: The muse is roused. When I first started my GoFundme for my 2nd album back in late 2018 (2018????), I came guns blazing out of the gates, quickly raising my goal and started pre-production and writing.

2019 And... action!: 2019 saw me feeling secure about the work I was creating and beginning production, recording basic tracks for 7 of the intended 10 songs at Portland Underground Recording. Though as I went into overdub & editing mode, production slowed as I ran into a lot of learning curve & glitches being a very enthusiastic but novice engineer. Things were sounding great, but slow going. Then, inspiration struck: having found words from my mother's old poetry manuscript from the '70's. I immediately found a melody and was driven to create music for it, record & mix myself to finish. Production had started, but....

2020: BAM! The slow down. The Pandemic hit & all went sideways, but I never really stopped, just slowed. As my business pivoted to virtual, every parent wanted their kid occupied, it became really busy & hard to maintain without difficulty in the virtual world - as most music teachers experienced. I was determined to move forward. I finished production on "Aura of Love" the song using my mother's words, which had determined itself to be my first single of this promised album. We began shooting video with the help of old friend, photographer Anthony Pidgeon, and friends from my community. This was a rewarding, fun, but also grueling learning curve. As I finally started getting enough footage by the end of the year a wildfire hit and we were all locked in. I suffered some exposure to the 400+ AQI which gave me lung/throat irritation for 2 or 3 months which led into 2021 which I call....

2021: The Full Stop Sh@#Show! Oh... you were there too? Ok, here's the nutshell. Everything that was going great, went south and all that was bad went worse. Not one damn good thing happened in 2021 except my healthcare professionals & my property manager. God bless them all. They have made a group effort of keeping me standing. I managed to get some editing done with my video, but that was also a brutal learning curve and glitch-ridden process. By the end of 2021, I stabilized things that had went wonky in my home, work, etc and started to make progress in my health issues. The latter persisted which stopped me from continuing my recording process as I was left with chronic pain in my body and inflammation in my throat (nothing wrong with my actual vocal apparatus, thank goodness!)

2022: one word.... G R I T. 2022 saw the loss of my beloved Uncle Joe which impacted me deeply and reminded me once again how precious life is. My Uncle believed in family, faith and hard work. So I take those lessons with me and have made my soul purpose this past year to get back to working form if not fighting strength and be present for those that are dear to me or have shown up for me in meaningful ways and let go of the rest. After 6 or 7 rounds of Physical Therapy and many lifestyle adjustments, I'm beginning to see the light, and I think it's not a train! ... but please pray to your dieties and knock on wood for me! I'm looking to move forward on this recording once more. I'm nearly finished with the "Aura of Love" video and am starting to work on my online presence to prepare for its' release. As I look at my funds which are enough to get my current songs mastered and finished, I've started a new Go Fund ME (Album Recording Fundraiser PT 2 - linked above) so that I may enlist help to update my online presence and create videos and to allow for new fans to contribute. These funds are really a tiny drop in the bucket of what it really takes to invest in a worthwhile music career (an underestimate on my part), but please know that ANY contribution is truly appreciated and accepted with humble gratitude.

And with that, I bring you my best wishes for holiday season & a promise of hope for new inspiration & creativity & music!
