Teresa Wilkinson: Burkitt Lymphoma Cost Care Fund

Saturday night: “They’re keeping Teresa overnight. Giving her platelets right now, running tests tomorrow. Her oncologist has been called in for her tomorrow.”

 

Sunday morning: “Teresa has Burkitt’s Lymphoma and her oncologist strongly believes it's stage 4.”

 

My friend Teresa sensed a lump in April, and in three short months has experienced rapid cancer growth to Stage Four Burkitts lymphoma. After a downturn this weekend, she is weak and pale, but okay.

 

She is about to start very aggressive treatments. Her oncologist is very concerned about how far its progressed. He said hers is one of the fastest he's seen. Doctors will perform a bone biopsy to see how much the cancer has progressed into her bone marrow. That will really tell more possibilities and decisions to tackle.

 

I have created this fundraiser because though the Wilkinsons have insurance, the out of pocket costs are still going to be significant.
