On October 10th, our mother Teresa was in a devastating car accident. She was hit by a semi hauling a double trailer of gravel just outside of Sioux City, IA and has been hospitalized ever since. She's suffering a large head lesion, brain bleeding, and fractures to her tibia, foot, and vertebrae among other injuries.
She has a long road ahead of her, and we are hopeful to get her home soon. However, once she is home, she will still need help to walk, bathe, cook, and all the other normal day-to-day activities. These costs, plus the costs for loss-of-work and hospital care are daunting. As a family, we're doing everything in our power to help her, but we can't cover all of the costs. P.S. The picture on the right is her giving us the finger for taking that photo. A ligament in her arm was damaged and her middle finger doesn't currently work. Surgery will be needed on her hand as well.
