Teresa Lloyd's Cancer Support

Donation protected

In May of 2017, my wife Teresa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cervical cancer that had already progressed to stage II.  She went through a few months of chemotherapy and radiation, and then was able to have surgery to remove it.

We waited patiently for them to declare her cancer free, or at least in remission, but it never came.  In early 2019, a scan showed that her cancer had spread and that she now has stage IV cancer and is has spread all throughout her lymph nodes.  Throughout most of 2019, she underwent chemotherapy.  It was months of misery and discomfort, as it was much longer and stronger than her first go around.  She lost her hair, and a lot of weight.  In October of 2019, she finished her treatments.  Since there is currently no way to fully be rid of cervical cancer, she was put on a regiment of a drug that was meant to keep tumors from growing.  It was a lifelong commitment, but obviously worth it.

In December of 2019, after a trip to the E.R., we found that the medication wasn't working.  The tumors were growing back, and have spread to her liver and her duodenum (which is extremely rare).  She has spent nearly a month in the hospital since, as they are trying to get the pain and nausea caused by the duodenal cancer under control.  Eating is extremely difficult and painful, and eating the wrong thing can cause a nausea fit that requires another trip to the E.R. to get under control.

She's been forced by her health to resign from her job and is now applying for disability since she can no longer work, which upsets her greatly.  It also makes health insurance difficult and expensive.

It's obviously a terrifying time, as there is very little that can be done.  A few experimental drugs and immunotherapy have a promise of slowing things down, but no one knows for how long.  Teresa has always been a warm, loving friend to all who know her, a wonderful wife, and a great person.  We want to give Teresa wonderful memories and experiences, as there's no telling how much time she has left.  She's always wanted to see Italy, which is something difficult to do amidst the growing medical bills.

We all love you Teresa.
