THE CHALLENGE:  OUR GOAL IS TO POST AND RE-POST AND COLLECT 200 DONATIONS AT $25.00 EACH TO REACH OUR GOAL OF $5,000!

Hi Riverview Gardens Facebook Friends, and all other Facebook Friends!

One of the great things about Facebook is the convenience of reaching out to so many people at one time.  Today a few high school friends are reaching out to all of you on behalf of one of our very dear friends.  Her name is Andrea Donahue Towner!  Everyone that meets Andrea instantly Loves her!  Andrea's smile, her contagious laugh, and her genuine care and concern for others are just a few of the things that make her a great friend!

However, as we all know, bad things do happen to good people.  Also, we are all confronted at one time or another with challenges.  So on behalf of Andrea, her high school friends are asking that you consider donating to the Go-Fund-Me Account we have set up for her.  Her account name is:   $tep Up For Andrea Donahue Towner.

Please read on about Andrea's challenges she has faced this year.

January 2018, Andrea was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) which is a virus that attacks the nervous system.  Andrea was left paralyzed in her feet, legs, hands and part of her face. There is no cure, but it does go away once your body starts to release the virus.  Andrea has been going through intense therapy to get her nerves and muscles registering so she can start walking and living a normal life again, One Step At A Time!
Andrea spent January thru April in the hospital and rehab facility and has started regaining most of her feeling back in her legs where she was paralyzed.  Every day a new nerve will spark and she starts to regain feeling.  Thanks to insurance they felt she was well enough to go home.  So here we are.  Currently we are waiting for insurance to approve her outpatient rehab. She has been out of work since January and is receiving short term disability, but the medical bills are starting to pile up.  Andrea’s #1 goal is to start walking again and get back to work!  The short term disability is only enough to keep a roof over her head, pay utilities, and buy a small amount of groceries. There is no donation too small, and every little bit will help significantly until Andrea can get back to work.
She became  a success story at the rehab facility, and they will be featuring a write up on their website about her and her progress.  Andrea has worked so hard and will never quit.  She is not going to let this virus defeat her or keep her down!
