As many of you know, I went back home to Ghana for the first time in 11 years last summer. As expected, a lot has changed, for better and worse. The young tennis players are eager to learn and compete but lack supplies and competition opportunities. As a tennis player and coach, you can imagine how heartbreaking it was to see.
Therefore, I am planning to go back next summer to bring supplies and run a tournament. In addition, part of my plan is to reinstate a Junior Tennis League that will provide free weekly competition for kids. For my vision to be successful, I am reaching out to my closest friends and family to ask for support. I am hoping to collect donations to cover the cost of the following items:
20 cases of Yellow Tennis Balls ($1200)
10 Buckets of Green Dot balls ($600)
Used or New Tennis rackets of any size
Used or New Tennis clothing, shoes, etc. of any size
Cost of shipping 10 barrels of items($2,000)
FOR $5000, THE TENNIS LEAGUE WOULD BE NAMED AFTER YOU AND ADVERTISED IN BOTH THE GHANAIAN AND U.S. PRESS! EXAMPLE: MARY SMITH JUNIOR TENNIS LEAGUE. Everyone is welcome to visit when I am in Ghana from August 15th - September 3rd, 2018.
Checks can be made out to the Tennis Foundation Ghana. Also, I am available to pickup any items you’ll like to donate.
It takes over 60 Days to ship items to Ghana due to the added delays of customs clearance at both origin and destination; therefore, I would like to start this ASAP.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information. Thank you in advance for your support.
