Ten acre wood
Donation protected
Hi my name is Joe East and this fundraising campaign is intended to raise money to plant out six acres of my land in West Penwith in Cornwall with native British trees including; Oak, Ash, Beech and fruit trees. The purpose of this planned planting is to use my land to take direct action to respond to the current global climate crisis. I am starting this fundraising campaign from an excellent position of having secured significant support for the costs. The cost of the proposed project is £5000. The woodland trust is committed to support 60% of the cost of planning the trees that are to be planted and the work that needs to be done to do that planting, and are also offering their specific expertise and resources to make this project a reality. This means we only need to raise 40% of £5000, which is only £2000! Which means this is a project with an invaluable global return on a very small local investment. Which in turn means you really can make a difference without having to pledge a lot of money. Once established this forest will contribute to reducing global warming as part of an intensive international effort. This woodland will also act as a nature reserve which will support a diversity of indigenous flora and fauna: foxes, badgers, bats, frogs, toads, newts, butterflies, and moths. Beyond this initial phase I intend to plant a further two acres of woodland, and eventually another four acres. This will ultimately create a 12 acre area of woodland which will be sustainably managed and safeguarded against future destruction.
A further £2000 is needed for fencing the boundaries of he field so in the future animals such as sheep or goats etc can be introduced to help with biodiversity.
