Housing for Displaced Persons in Mali after Fire

Donation protected

At the end of April, a make-shift displaced persons camps in Bamako, Mali was ravaged by fire , leaving hundreds of displaced persons, women and children among them, once again without adequate shelter and resources. In response to the dire humanitarian need, the Malian nonprofit organization International Solidarity for Africa Mali (SIA Mali) is campaigning to raise funds to provide the victims of this fire with temporary emergency shelter, food supplies, and basic medical services.

The humanitarian crisis afflicting Mali since 2012 has resulted in the widespread displacement of populations, both internally and externally. Since 2018, a new cycle of violence has worsened the situation and resulted in further forced population displacement. Each day, new internally displaced persons (IDP) are documented. Women and children are most vulnerable to the physical and emotional strain of displacement. The recent destruction of these camps has aggravate this suffering.

To alleviate the trials facing displaced Malians, we have launched this campaign to provide vulnerable men, women, and children with shelter and basic necessities.

Even the smallest donation will make the biggest difference.
