After suffering from extreme kidney pain for over a year, Temple decided it would be best to see a doctor. It was then in early May of 2017 she was diagnoised with stage 4 colan cancer.
She was then sent to Roswell Cancer Treatment Center located in Buffalo, New York. It was there she learned after seeing a panel of doctors and oncologist that the tumor was 8cm by 8 cm. She was told that additional organs such as the kidney and possibly the spleen had been effected by this tumor. The oncologist and doctors also informed her that the cancer had metastasized to the lymph nodes surrounding her aorta. Due to the current extent of her illness, it made surgery not an option for her at this time.
Monday, June 12th Temple will begin very aggressive chemotheropy. She will be going for chemotheropy 2 1/2 days for the next 6 months. The doctors have told her that it will make her feel very ill and tired. After, aggressive chemotheropy the oncologist will reevaluate her to see if further chemotheropy will be needed or possibly surgery.
After learning about the extent of her cancer, Temple has continued to come to work every day. However, with the chemotheropy starting we know that there will be days that she won't be able to work and will need some time off. There will be medical bills that come in and lets not forget everyday life bills that can add up when someone is out of work.
Temple is an amazingly strong women, who would give her last dollar to help someone out. She is always there for others when needed. This is now our time to be there for her. Let's all show her how much she means to us and that she is not alone in this!
