My name is David Temple. My wife Windy and I are exploring an opportunity to move our family to a neighborhood called Leith, in Edinburgh, Scotland, to join a missional church-planting team there. Our goal is to see the church flourish once again in a nation that just last year slipped below 2% of the population following Christ... and is now considered an unreached people group!
We have felt God calling us to serve this community in the UK over the past few months. Now we are walking through the steps to confirm that this is the right ministry opportunity for us, and to ready our family to serve overseas. We're excited about the possibility of sharing the Gospel with a community of people who desparately need Jesus.
We are working with an organization called Communitas International. The mission of Communitas is to establish churches who follow Jesus in transforming their world. You can learn more about Communitas in this video:
You can support us in a number of ways:
1. Our next step in this process is to attend an intensive assessment week, called Engage, that is sponsored by Communitas. We need to raise $2800 for fees and travel to attend Engage in Denver, CO this October. Please pray and consider how you might financially support this first major step in our ministry. This is a great chance to become an "early adopter" ministry partner with us!
2. God has made it very clear to us from the beginning that this is HIS project, not ours. Therefore, we need an army of like-minded people praying with us and for us, that we would keep following the path God has laid out for us, and that His will would be done among the people of Edinburgh. If you give a gift of any amount or send me your contact info, I'll make sure to keep you updated by email on new developments and specific ways you can pray for us.
