It starts with a wish, a want, a desire, a love, a passion... and through hard work, sweat, determination, and committment... what was a dream turns into achievement and mastery. Something beautiful is created and shared with the world.
This is the story of my goddaughter, Tehya West. Tehya is 15 years old and a talented dancer. As a little girl she tried many activities but nothing spoke to her like dance. Since then she has dedicated every moment (4-5 hours of training a day!) to honing her skill while also maintaining a 4.0 GPA and even getting accepted into an early college high school. Tehya has worked tirelessly even during times of extreme personal hardship and has shown tremendous resiliance and dedication.
Dance is one of the most expensive activities that a child can choose. Having to choose between what we as parents can afford and what our children love is an incredibly difficult choice. Tehya has amazing parents, grandparents and adults in her life who have helped to make her dreams reality, but it has become exceedingly difficult to support her dream financially. And so that's where this GOFUND ME drive comes into play!
Tehya is an extraordinary young woman who works harder than anyone I know. But sometimes our hard work isn't enough and we need to ask for a little support from our friends and family. The money we raise will go straght to her to pay for costumes, pointe shoes, tights, solo lessons, tournament costs, travel fees, and her monthly studio tuition. Please consider giving what you can to help Tehya continue to make her dream, a reality.
