For the last few years, teens have been funded from Montpelier High School to attend yoga classes at Grateful Yoga using an amazing grant. This grant was not made available to the school in 2019 and they have made attempts to pursue alternate sources of funding with no luck. We have seen a drop in the numbers of teens attending our classes since we ran out earlier of class cards earlier this year.
We have decided that it would be amazing to have ALL Vermont teenagers attend class for free with a valid school or state issued ID. This campaign is set to fund an average of 10 students per week for one full year at Grateful Yoga! With success in this program, all teenagers will have access to the full schedule of classes (including our favorite class for teens only every Wednesday 4-5 pm).
In words from some of our teen students:
"I find Teen Yoga to be a wonderful way to relax and reconnect with myself and my body. Grateful Yoga offers a safe, comfortable and accessible place to do that."
"The studio is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. I really enjoy the class for teens. It is good for beginners but offers flexibility to those at different levels!"
"Yoga is good. It helps me feel calm."
While we donated 1 free week of classes ourselves, your help towards this noble contribution will be celebrated by the teens waiting to return to classes long term! Thanks for continuing to support the growth and diversity of the Grateful Squad.
