Teen Vogue Summit

Karishma Bhuiyan and Muram Ibrahim, are both first generation Muslim Americans. Living in Irving TX, a city with the most diverse zip code in the US and one of the lowest socioeconomic backgrounds their perspective on life is heavily centered around social justice. They see first hand the effects of oppression, inequality, and injustice because it happens directly to their communities. And even though they are marginalized, they demand their voices to be heard. Karishma is a Bengali Studio Art High School Student, who uses her art to create a platform that empowers people of color. She aspires to be a future influencer and hopefully editor in chief of her own to magazine to inspire young woman all around the world and provide the necessary representation of strong and intelligent female Bengali-American leaders. Muram Ibrahim is a Sudanese Emergency Medical Technician High Student who is planning on majoring in International Relations and is aiming for a future job in the United Nations. Her goal is to use her education and background to be someone that can lead the fight to a world without injustice. Both of these young women are student leaders in their schools and communities, already beginning their paths to their future. The Teen Vogue Summit  would offer a life changing opportunity to meet the women they look up to daily, to gain new knowledge and connections to further their journey, and to come home with an even greater passion for social justice, innovation, and leadership. However, these young women can not afford this once in a lifetime trip on their own. The money you donate will be used for their registration and transportation fees, no amount is too small.
